Year 6 are currently taking part in ‘Refugee and Migration’ workshops, delivered by the British Red Cross Society.

During the workshops we are exploring assumptions about terms such as ‘refugee’, ‘migrant’ and ‘asylum seeker’. We are developing our understanding of why someone might have to flee their home. We are thinking about the harmful effects of unwelcoming, hostile or discriminating behaviour and we have been thinking about how our actions can help someone feel more welcome in society and in school.
