Enrichment
At Holy Trinity Rosehill CofE Primary School, we are committed to providing a wide variety of exciting, stimulating and challenging opportunities across the curriculum and learning is enhanced and further embedded by the range of enrichment activities provided.
Music
In addition to planned curriculum time for music, children also have additional musical experiences throughout their time at our school.
We endeavour to ensure that children have the opportunity to learn a range instruments including; recorder, ukulele and guitar.
Children also have the opportunity to visit a range of different musical venues such as The Georgian Theatre, The Stockton Globe and the Glasshouse in Gateshead.
Chess
Y3/4 children have chess lessons every week led by Mrs Lloyd. Chess promotes academic and social skills that children will use throughout their lives. The game helps them to think logically and solve problems, it develops sportsmanship and resilience and it teaches children to plan ahead and take responsibility for their actions. The children thoroughly enjoy the sessions and gradually build up their skills to be able to compete in tournaments.
Educational Visits
We give pupils the opportunity to participate in a range of trips and visits that supplement their learning and enable them to broaden their skills and experiences.
Recent visits we have been on include the following: Washington Wetland Centre, Chester’s Roman Fort, Dorman Museum, Durham Cathedral, Auckland Project and a seaside visit to Saltburn.
Sporting Events
Through Stockton’s Sport Partnership, pupils take part in a range of different sporting events throughout the year.
