Letting our lights shine in the community.

Work with Charities

Each year, we support three charities. First we ask parents/carers to nominate charities before children in school council vote which charities to support that academic year. We enjoy inviting charity members into to school to learn more about the work they do for people in our local community.

Here are some of the charities we have supported : Headlight Project, Neo Angels, Give a Duck Foundation, British Heart Foundation, Teesside Family Foundation, Blue for Jackson, SANDS and Great North Air Ambulance.

Courageous Advocacy Lent Challenge

Each year, classes take part in a courageous advocacy lent challenge to help make a difference to others. Every class chose an issue which concerned them and completed a small action to help.

Interfaith Week

Interfaith Week is a vital time in the school calendar to celebrate the diversity of faiths and beliefs in our local community.
In 2024 the theme was:  Sharing My Story: Building Our Future
We planned a range of exciting activities for the children to think about their own identity and that of others while exploring the value of friendship.
More than ever, we need to encourage our children to talk with and to listen to each other as they learn how to live alongside people with different beliefs and values from their own so we can live in a successful, kind and supportive community

Supporting Local Foodbanks

Throughout Harvest, we give thanks to God for the rain, the soil, the sun and the farmers who grow our crops.

Harvest time is also a great time to think about other people and the ways in which we might be able to help them.  Together we collect a range of items and donate them to Stockton Hope Community Larder. The items is then distributed to people in our community.

Stockton International Riverside Festival

The Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF) is an annual free outdoor arts and street theatre festival in Stockton-on-Tees.
KS2 children are given the opportunity to take part in the Community Carnival alongside Apollo Arts. The children always thoroughly enjoy taking part in this event each year.

Black History Month

In the UK, Black History Month happens every October.
Each year in school we give everyone the opportunity to reflect, share, celebrate and understand the impact of black heritage and culture.
Children take part in a range of exciting activities are discover more about significant individuals both in the past and the preset.

Hartburn Community Garden

Located outside the Elmwood Centre in Hartburn, is a community Garden Space. Children, alongside staff and local councillor Niall Inness enjoy coming together to plant a range of different flowers.

We recently decorated the community garden with painted stones linked to our school values too.

Buddy Bench

As part of World Mental Health Day 2022, Wellington Square in Stockton launched a Buddy Bench with Middlesbrough and Stockon Mind. Designed and painted by a pupil from Holy Trinity Rosehill CofE Primary School. The Buddy Bench is a place where people can form connections with others in the community.

Taylor Wimpey – Road Safety Week 2024

To help pupils from Holy Trinity Rosehill Church of England School stay safe whilst walking to and from school, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has donated a colourful collection of clip-on lights to the Stockton-on-Tees school as part of Road Safety Week.
The lights, which can be fastened onto bags or bikes, were donated by the homebuilder to help students be seen by drivers when out and about in the local community and when travelling to and from school.

Mayor’s Carol Service

Each year, a group of KS2 children represent our school at the annual Mayor’s Carol Service which is held at Stockton Parish Church. The children perform a song and also lead the congregation in prayer. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to let their light shine before others.
