It may have been one giant leap for mankind when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, but today our children were making steps of their own, as they designed, built and launched their own rockets!
Nick Corston, co-founder of ArtConnets, worked with our children as part of the Great Northern Exhibition 2018, to build paper rockets and explain that art often inspires invention and science.
After the rockets were complete, children were joined by parents and staff for the big launch. There was an extra surprise when Nick launched two of his own rockets and, for the first time ever, caught one as it returned to the ground!
The children had a wonderful time and maybe one day they will have the opportunity to work on the real thing!
